Kelly Rose
Kwe, my name is Kelly Francis-Rose. I am Mi’kmaq and a member of Acadia First Nation in Nova Scotia. I am married with one beautiful daughter named Alicia and am a grandmother to Lucas and Willow. My grandfather, Frank Francis, came from Great Pubnico Lake in Yarmouth County and was a basket maker. I taught myself how to bead and I now bead about 8 hours a day, but I still create many traditional items with materials sourced from mother earth, such as deer antler, porcupine quills and bird feathers. I love what I do and want to share my culture with others. Wela’lin.
